UNH Welcomes All To Homecoming Weekend: Oct. 14-16
The
University of New Hampshire welcomes alumni and friends back to
campus for Homecoming Weekend Oct. 14-16, for a weekend is packed
with a wide range of events and activities for the whole family.
Friday, Oct. 14
On Friday, Oct. 14, the UNH Women's Volleyball team plays MD-Baltimore
County in the Field House at 5 p.m. At 5:30 p.m., the traditional
Blue and White Parade, complete with student-made floats, proceeds
from Q-Lot to Memorial Field. A fireworks display follows the parade
behind Cowell Stadium at around 8:30 p.m. There is no charge for
admission.
Saturday, Oct. 15
Runners and walkers will participate in the 5K road race Saturday,
Oct. 15, sponsored by Campus Recreation. Registration begins at
7:30 a.m. in the main lobby of the Whittemore Center, and the race
starts at 9 a.m. on Main Street near the front of the Field House.
Children ages 7 and under can enter the quarter-mile Fun Run held
immediately after the 5K.
The pre-race entry fee (before Oct. 12) for the 5K road race is
$10; on the day of the race, the fee is $12. T-shirts go to the
first 250 registered runners. Cash prizes go to the top three men
and women finishers ($100, $75, $50); merchandise prizes go to top
two finishers in each age category and in several special categories
(no duplicate prizes given).
More than 50 volunteers are needed to help the race run smoothly.
Volunteers receive a race shirt and are eligible for door prizes.

Family non-alcoholic tailgating will be held in Lot A, and traditional
tailgating will be held on Boulder Field, both from 9 a.m. to noon.
A ticket to the football game is required for entry to the tailgating
areas; the fee for both areas is $5 per car. Official functions
will be held in Upper Field.
A number of alumni groups will hold special tailgating gatherings
under tents near the alumni tent on Boulder Field on Main Street.

at Boulder Field. Meet up with old friends and faculty; network
with new. Sample great food from a complimentary menu. Sign up for

At Homecoming headquarters – the UNH Alumni Association’s
big tent on Boulder Field on Main Street – children can enjoy
a free carnival fair with face-painting and other family-friendly
activities from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The UNH football game against the University of Rhode Island kicks
off in Cowell Stadium at noon Saturday. For tickets, call 1-866-WILDCAT

Saturday evening, the UNH women’s hockey team plays Maine
at 7 p.m. in the Whittemore Center. Tickets will be available at
the Whittemore Center box office. The UNH men’s soccer team
plays Binghamton at Bremner Field at 7 p.m. “A Little Night
Music” by Hugh Wheeler, lyrics and music by Stephen Sondheim
will be at UNH’s Johnson Theatre. For tickets, call the Memorial

Sunday, Oct. 16
On Sunday, Oct. 16, Homecoming festivities continue with the
men’s rugby team playing Harvard at 10 a.m. and the women’s
rugby team playing Bates at 1 p.m. The UNH women’s soccer
team plays Boston University at 1 p.m., and the UNH women’s
volleyball team plays Hartford at 1 p.m.
