Give back to the community: Serve as a volunteer in the Judicial and Mediation Programs Office

The Judicial and Mediation Programs Office is seeking dedicated individuals to serve as hearing board members and hearing officers for the upcoming semester. Volunteers perform an essential and extraordinarily valuable service for the university community. In addition to giving back to the community, volunteers gain hands-on experience supporting and challenging students in an effort to help them learn valuable life skills, while protecting the community.

The UNH student judicial system is governed by the following principles: community, fairness, and responsibility. Volunteers help uphold these ideals and maintain a safe and respectful community environment for all. In matters of student conduct, the Judicial and Mediation Programs Office believes the process holds students accountable while providing them opportunities to learn from their decisions. The office strives to help students develop personal responsibility and critical thinking skills as they become positive and active citizens in their community.

No prior experience is necessary. Training will be provided during each semester for all new volunteers. Faculty and staff who are interested, or would like more information should call the Judicial and Mediation Programs Office at 2-2509, or visit http://www.unh.edu/student-life/judprograms to complete an online volunteer application.
