Traditional Jazz Series presents Dave Pietro and his Banda Brazil April 4

Dave Pietro

On Monday, April 4, the Traditional Jazz Series at UNH will provide a stimulating perspective on our globalized culture when native New Englander Dave Pietro appears with his Banda Brazil. Saxophonist Pietro has been a standout performer and recording artist on the New York scene for almost 20 years, working with Woody Herman, Lionel Hampton, and Toshiko Akiyoshi among countless others, and his wide-ranging interests in the diversity of the jazz experience and heritage have led him to assemble this ensemble of native Brazilians possessing equally capacious outlooks.

The concert takes place in the Johnson Theatre of the Paul Creative Arts Center on the Durham campus, and begins at 8 p.m. Single Tickets are priced at $8.00, senior citizen and student tickets sell for $6.00 and are available at the MUB Ticket Office, Monday through Friday from 10 am to 4 pm, and one hour prior to the concert.

For more information, call the UNH Department of Music at 2-2404. For tickets, call 2-2290.
