Faculty Concert Series presents The UNH Faculty Chamber Ensemble March 30

The UNH Department of Music Faculty Concert Series presents the Faculty Chamber Ensemble on Wednesday evening, March 30, at 8 p.m. in the Bratton Recital Hall of the Paul Creative Arts Center.

Works include Schubert’s beautiful Piano Quintet in A Major, D. 667, better known as the Trout Quintet. Unusually scored for violin, viola, ‘cello, double bass and piano, the fourth movement of this five movement work is a set of variations on the famous Schubert song, Die Forelle (the trout). The second featured work is Piano Quintet in A Major by Antonin Dvorak, one of the most beloved and ebullient works for standard piano quintet.

Performers for this program include Robert Eshbach and Elliott Markow, violins, Mimi Bravar, viola, Larry Veal, ‘cello, John Hunter, double bass and Arlene Kies, piano.

The concert is free and open to the public. For more information, call the UNH Department of Music at 2-2404.
