2005 Women's Commission Awards nominations being accepted
Nominations for the 2005 Women's Commission Awards are being
accepted. Through these awards, the university honors one staff
member, one faculty member, and one student or student group who,
through scholarship, leadership, or outstanding efforts, promote
equity, advance the status of women, and/or serve as a role model
for women at UNH. This year's awards will be presented at the annual
Women's Commission Celebration and Awards Ceremony Wednesday, April
27, from 4 to 5 p.m. in the Oak Room of Huddleston Hall. Nominations
forms are available at Batcheller House. Please contact 2-1058 or

due by April 8, 2005.
Student Admissions representatives sought
The Admissions Office is seeking nominations and recommendations
for energetic, outgoing students for our volunteer admissions “rep”
program. This essential group provides visiting prospective students
and their families with an inside look at UNH and its programs through
daily tours of campus, informational sessions, open houses and other
related programs. Interested students may obtain applications at
Grant House. The deadline for students to submit applications for
the 2005-2006 academic year is Friday, April 1. Questions, nominations

FITSI applications being accepted now
Applications are being accepted for the fourth annual Faculty Instructional
Technology Summer Institute (FITSI) sponsored by CIS Academic Technology.
The institute, which will be held at UNH June 13-17, is a hands-on
training "camp" offered to faculty and instructors in
full-time, permanent teaching positions at the UNH Durham and Manchester
campuses. Programming for the week includes workshops and presentations
by UNH instructional technology staff along with sessions facilitated
by recognized leaders in the field outside of UNH. Faculty selected
to participate will receive a free PC or Macintosh laptop computer

Faculty asked to remind students about URC '05.
There’s still time to register for URC ’05, the Undergraduate
Research Conference April 25 to30. Students or their faculty mentors
must register online at http://www.unh.edu/urc
by March 11. Faculty and staff members are urged to identify and
persuade eligible students to participate. All undergraduates who
are engaged in or have completed a research, creative, capstone,
or service learning project are eligible. URC ‘05 casts a
spotlight on the research and scholarship of undergraduates from
all of UNH’s schools and colleges, and features symposia,
events, performances, and awards. Participating in URC provides
remarkable preparatory experience for students going on to graduate
school or the world at large. Awards, including scholarships, will

Sign kids up for winter recess camp
UNH Campus Recreation will offer fitness-based morning (8:30 a.m.
to noon) kids camp during spring recess (April 25-29). Special activities
for the February session will include: indoor pool, ice rink, court
games, aerobic classes and outdoor activities (weather permitting).

Academic Technology (AT) is offering an online customer feedback
survey to help understand customers needs and ensure good customer

Faculty: UROP information for students
Faculty are asked to share the following information about the Undergraduate
Research Opportunities Program with their students. Application
deadlines are March 2 for the undergraduate research awards and
summer undergraduate research fellowships. Students can receive
credit and financial support for research by taking INCO 590: Student

Recycle your old cell phone
UNH’s Telecommunications Department is collecting old cell
phones as part of its recycling effort. Phones can be dropped off
at the collection box at Wildcat Wireless in the MUB. Please be
sure to deactivate phone service before turning in handsets. Cell
phones also may be sent through campus mail to UNH Telecom, c/o
Emily Moore, 1 Leavitt Lane, Durham, NH 03824. UNH’s cell
phone recycling program was developed in partnership with CollectiveGood,
which refurbishes and recycles mobile phones in an environmentally
friendly manner.
Winter Parking Ban begins
The Winter Parking Ban began Dec. 1. Once underway, after-midnight
parking is restricted to "exempt" and "weather-conditional"
lots only. Weather-conditional lots (lots B and C) may also close
in the case of a declared snow emergency; their status is posted
at 2-1001. Violators of the WPB are subject to a fine ($75) and
possible towing, and the policies are strictly enforced, so please
take careful note of the restrictions and provisions of the WPB.

Video samples available to faculty
With support from the UNH Parents Association, the UNH Speech-Language-Hearing
Center recently upgraded its videotaping equipment to capture improved
samples of various types of communication disorders, differences
and delays demonstrated by our clients. With client permission,
certain video samples can be shared for instructional purposes.

Dairy Bar delivers
The UNH Dairy Bar Restaurant offers deliver service of lunches and
other goodies across campus. Group orders serve eight to 20 people.
One day advanced notice is required if orders differ, or orders
can be placed by 9:30 a.m. the day of meeting if a group is having
the same lunch. Delivery time will be established at order time.
Payment must be in cash, single check, or by POB #, upon delivery.

Discounted Gunstock tickets available at HR
Human Resources will have discounted ski ticket vouchers for sale
this winter for Gunstock. Vouchers will be available for purchase
beginning the week of Thanksgiving. Vouchers must be purchased at
the Human Resources office at 2 Leavitt Lane between 8 a.m. - 4:30
p.m. Vouchers can be redeemed at any Gunstock ticket sales location
in exchange for an all mountain, all lift day or primetime (all
day and night) ticket. The prices are: adult (20-64) - $36; teen/senior
(13-19, 65+) - $26; child (6-12) - $16. Children 5 and under ski
free with an adult. Night Ticket Tuesday follows Saturday pricing:
adult (20-64) - $18; teen/senior (13-19 & 65+) - $14; child
(6-12) - $10. This pricing represents an average savings of 21 percent
off regular ticket prices.
Lactation room available
The UNH President's Commission on the Status of Women is pleased
to announce the opening of a new lactation space on campus available
to everyone in the UNH community. Located in Batcheller House, this
private room contains a hospital-grade Medela breast pump, a gliding
rocker, a refrigerator, and soft music. The room is designed for
nursing and milk expression. Please contact the commission office

WEBCAT available to faculty
Faculty members can access information for their students and advisees
including addresses, class lists, academic history, and degree audits
(for university requirements) from WEBCAT, the online student information
system. Faculty members and advisers who do not already have a WEBCAT
account may print out an account application by selecting "Faculty
Account Applications" from the Registrar's Office Website at
www.unh.edu/registrar/regforms/registrarforms.html.

Get your notices out on Catvision
Want to get the word out above an upcoming university program or
event? Housing’s Catvision Information Channel invites all
departments of the university to submit announcements and information
pertaining to events, activities and programs for free broadcast

all residence hall rooms, Forest Park apartments and is broadcast
