Theatre and Dance holds fundraiser June 25 for alum with cancer

The UNH Department of Theatre and Dance will hold a fundraising benefit performance of The Divine Project to raise money for a New Hampshire cancer victim. The Divine Project will be performed June 25 at 7 p.m. in the Johnson Theatre at the PCAC.

The performance features dancers from local New England dance studios, alongside an international cast of professional dancers and choreographers from New York City. The event is being organized for Erica Miller, 24, a professional dancer and UNH Theatre and dance alumnus, diagnosed with acute leukemia this past winter. Money raised will help Miller pay for her cancer treatment.

Miller’s dance career bloomed during her involvement with the university’s dance company where she danced for three years while attending UNH. She continued to pursue her career by performing in New York City and last year returned to New Hampshire to continue teaching.

Tickets will be sold at the door for $12 and all proceeds will go to help pay for Miller's treatment and recovery. Donations and any other help also are welcome.

For ticket reservations or to make a donation, please contact:  Brittany Lynch, chairperson, at 560-3503 or email her at BritLynUnh@hotmail.com.  Brittany Lynch, a 2003 graduate of the Theatre and Dance Department, is a dance colleague and friend of Miller and currently based in New York City with a career in dance.
