UNH
begins search for new VP for finance and administration
The following memo was sent to the university community by UNH
President Ann Weaver Hart.
As many of you have heard by now, Vice President Candace Corvey
has announced her plan to retire from the University of New Hampshire
on Dec. 31, 2005.
VP
Corvey has provided nine years of extraordinary service to UNH and
is deeply respected, admired, and valued across campus. I have been
most fortunate to have worked with her over the past three years
and I am grateful to have had the opportunity to be her colleague.
The quality and extent of her service will leave a huge leadership
gap in a senior executive position of central importance to the
well-being of the university.
I therefore, will be launching a comprehensive national search for
her replacement beginning as soon as possible. Recognizing that
transitions in positions of this importance often take some time,
I will ask the search committee to begin its activities this spring
and work through the summer so that we will be able to bring andidates
to campus for interviews in the fall. I have sought representation
from across campus on this search committee.
Those who have agreed to serve include:
Steve Bolander
Chair
Dean, Whittemore School of Business
Mimi Becker
Associate Professor
Department of Natural Resources
Immediate Past Chair, Faculty Senate
Gregg Cerveny
Major Gifts Officer, UNH Foundation

Colby Marques
Alumnus
V. K. Mathur

Please join me in thanking Candace for her tremendous contributions
to the University of New Hampshire. She will be missed.
