Survivor UNH Style: Career Awareness & Exploration Camp set for July 25–29

The Thompson School of Applied Science announces Survivor UNH Style: a Career Awareness and Exploration Camp for youth entering 6th, 7th and 8th grades to be held July 25–29. The summer day camp provides experiences leading to career awareness in the disciplines of animal science, horticulture, forestry, restaurant management and business.

The camp will focus on fun, know how and how-to activities. Individual and team activities are planned, along with speakers from the community in the respective career fields. Outdoor recreation is included.

Campers will “survive” in smaller “tribes” to foster cooperation, collaboration and leadership.

Typical day’s schedule:

  • Arrive 8:30 a.m. and check in
  • Career options explored
  • Focused activity in academic discipline of the day
  • Lunch
  • Recreation
  • Activity in academic discipline of the day
  • Recap day’s activities
  • “Tribe” meeting and planning
  • 4:30 p.m. Pick-up

Registration is underway and registrations will be accepted until the camp is full. Enrollment is limited. Full tuition ($175.00) is due with the registration form. Information packets will be mailed after registration is processed.
