| URC
’05 registration is under way
Deadline for student registration
March 11
Registration
is under way for the Undergraduate Research Conference (URC ’05),
which returns to campus for the sixth year April 25 – 30.
This campuswide event casts a spotlight on the research and scholarship
of undergraduates from all of UNH’s schools and colleges,
and features symposia, events, performances, and awards.
To participate, undergraduates, or their faculty advisers, must
register online by Friday, March 11, 2005 at: www.unh.edu/urc.
All undergraduates from Durham and Manchester who have completed
or are engaged in a research, creative, service learning, or capstone
project are eligible and encouraged to take part.
Interested students should contact their advisers or professors
now for additional guidance on how they may participate in URC ’05.
Awards, including scholarships, will be presented for outstanding
projects.
Faculty and staff members are urged to identify and persuade eligible
students to participate, as it provides students the opportunity
to prepare for and present research and scholarly findings in a
professional setting, gaining real-life experience, as well as the
recognition of peers, faculty, families, and the general public.
Highlights of URC ’05 include the Interdisciplinary Science
& Engineering Symposium at Morse Hall featuring the presentations
of engineering students’ capstone experiments (Wednesday,
April 27, 3–6 p.m.), and the Festival of Creativity and Culture,
a coffeehouse-style hub for vignettes of music, poetry, theatre,
dance, art, and woodworking exhibits. (Friday, April 29, 3:30–5:30
p.m.)
