Four finalists for UNHM Dean making campus visits

Four candidates for dean of the University of New Hampshire at Manchester will visit the Manchester campus in the coming weeks and attend public forums.

The four candidates are: Brad J. Stewart, campus executive officer and dean of the University of Wisconsin-Waukesha; Thomas W. Krise, director of the Air Force Humanities Institute in Colorado; Robert E. Jolley, interim dean of UNHM; and Kristin R. Woolever, director of the Center for Creative Change at Antioch University in Seattle.

Stewart has served as campus executive officer and dean of the University of Wisconsin-Waukesha since 1999. Previous positions include associate dean for Academic Advising and Special Programs at the University of St. Thomas (St. Paul, MN), and American Council on Education fellow at Roosevelt University (Chicago). He holds a Ph.D. and master’s in sociology from Iowa State University, and a bachelor’s in sociology and English from William Penn College (Oskaloosa, IA). On Monday, Feb. 28, Stewart will meet with staff at 9:30 a.m., students at 10:30 a.m., faculty at 1:15 p.m., and in an open forum at 2:15 p.m. All meetings will be held at UNHM in Room 154.

Krise has been director of the Air Force Humanities Institute at the U.S. Air Force Academy since 1997, a center he founded. His previous positions include serving as a senior fellow at the Institute for National Strategic Studies at the National Defense University and director of the Association of Graduates of the USAF. He holds a Ph.D. in English language and literature from the University of Chicago, a master’s in English language and literature from the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis, a M.S.A. in human resources management from Central Michigan University, and bachelor’s in western European history from the U.S. Air Force Academy. On Thursday, March 3, Krise will meet with students at 9:30 a.m., faculty at 10:30 a.m., staff at 1:15 p.m., and in an open forum at 2:15 p.m. All meetings will be held at UNHM. Meetings with students, faculty and staff will be held in Room 362. The open forum will be held in Room 358.

Jolley has been at UNH for 25 years and currently serves as interim dean at UNH Manchester. Previous positions include chair of the UNH Department of Social Work, and professor of social work. He holds a Ph.D. from the Smith College School for Social Work, an MSSS (MSW-Accredited) from the Boston University School of Social Work, and a bachelor’s in philosophy from Allegheny College, Meadville, Penn. On Monday, March 7, Jolley will meet with faculty at 9:30 a.m., staff at 10:30 a.m., students at 1:15 p.m., and in an open forum at 2:15 p.m. All will take place at UNHM in Room 154.

Woolever has served as director of the Center for Creative Change at Antioch University since 2001. Previous positions include director of assessment, director of graduate studies and professor of English at Northeastern University. She holds a Ph.D. and master’s in English from the University of Pittsburgh, and a bachelor’s in English from Allegheny College. On Thursday, March 10, Woolever will meet with staff at 9:30 a.m., students at 10:30 a.m., faculty at 1:15 p.m. and in an open forum at 2:15 p.m. All meetings will be held at UNHM in Room 362, except for the open forum, which will be held in Room 358.
