UNH Traditional Jazz Series presents The Bob Mintzer Quartet Feb. 28

On Monday, Feb. 28, the UNH Traditional Jazz Series will highlight a quartet of musicians whose individual experiences represent the comprehensive variety of New York’s central jazz scene. Led by tenor saxophonist Bob Mintzer, best known as an arranger and big band conductor, his similarly versatile colleagues include pianist Phil Markowitz, bassist Rufus Reid, and drummer John Riley, musicians all in diverse demand returning to the intimate format which has served jazz so well over the decades.

The concert takes place in the Johnson Theatre of the Paul Creative Arts Center on the Durham campus, and begins at 8 p.m. Single Tickets are priced at $8, senior citizen and student tickets sell for $6.00 and are available at the MUB Ticket Office, Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and one hour prior to the concert.
