the holidays at the University Holiday Party Dec. 14 Make sure to visit the University Holiday Party at the Whittemore Center Arena Wednesday, Dec. 14 from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. Horse drawn wagon rides will take place in front of the arena (rides are $1). Dress warmly! There will be a silent auction with great ideas for holiday gifts such as a flight to Nantucket, overnight stays at the Balsams Resort, the Wentworth by the Sea hotel, and the Cliff House Hotel and Resort. Come bid on a gift certificate to Kittery’s newest restaurant, Anneka Jans, or the Portsmouth Gaslight Restaurant. All proceeds from the auction will go to the Durham It’s Where U Live Scholarship Fund. Holiday Party activities also will include holiday arts and crafts, facepainting and making holiday cards to send to overseas troops. Donations will be accepted for Wildcat Santa. Santa will be available for photos and skates can be rented at the Hamel Recreation Center this year. There are a limited number of rentals so come early of you need to rent skates.
