Justice Studies Coursework Now Being Offered At The Manchester Campus

The UNH Center for Graduate & Professional Studies is pleased to announce the addition of two Justice Studies courses to the programming list for the fall semester: Organization Leadership in Justice Studies and Juvenile Justice Issues. The two courses will be offered once a week on Saturdays beginning September 10, 2005. The graduate courses are part of the master of arts in Justice Studies program that just completed its first year on the Durham campus and is part of an ongoing effort of the university to offer professional part-time graduate programs in the I-93 corridor.

Justice Studies, an interdisciplinary masters of arts program combining criminal justice and legal studies, is the only masters program focusing on Justice Studies in New England. It addresses a wide variety of subjects, including philosophy of law, American legal history, psychological aspects of the law, social control, criminology, juvenile delinquency, law and literature, and family laws. Courses are taught by faculty with backgrounds in both the social sciences and humanities.

Currently, the department is planning to offer two or three courses at UNH Manchester per semester. In addition, a variety of graduate courses are offered at the Durham campus where the program is based. For more information about the Justice Studies program, contact Ellen Cohn at ellen.cohn@unh.edu or 603-862-3197.
