Violinist Frank Huang to perform at Celebrity Series May 2

Violinist Frank Huang, accompanied by Fellow Juilliard graduate Carol Wong, will perform at the Celebrity Series Monday, May 2, at 8 p.m. in the Johnson Theatre, Paul Creative Arts Center.

Frank Huang, first-prize winner of the 2003 Naumburg Foundation's Violin Competition and the 2000 Hannover International Violin Competition, is well on his way toward a major career as a violin virtuoso. He recently was selected by the Lincoln Center Chamber Music Society to perform regularly at Alice Tully Hall as part of the highly prestigious CMS II program. Huang studied with Robert Mann at The Juilliard School, Donald Weilerstein at the Cleveland Institute of Music, and with Fredell Lack.

His program for the Celebrity Series will include sonatas by Tartini, Prokofiev, Ysaÿe, and Ravel.
