Services Event Oct. 17 Promotes Eating Mindfully
Health Services is sponsoring Love Your Body, Love
Yourself Day Monday, Oct. 17, an event inspired by the National Organization
for Women (NOW) Foundation. This year author Susan Albers will discuss
her book, Eating Mindfully, which also is the theme of this
year’s events.

Granite Bench to Honor Prof. Charles Warren
The
university will plant a chestnut tree and place a granite bench in
the memory of Charles Warren, assistant professor of biochemistry
and molecular biology, who died July 30, 2005, from injuries sustained
in a paragliding accident in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.

Student
Support Services Receives Grant to Expand Programs
The Center for Academic Resources Student Support
Services (SSS) program has been awarded a
four-year grant for $303,867 per year from the U.S. Department of
Education. Under the federal TRIO programs, SSS grant will
provide academic support and scholarship assistance to low-income,
first-generation college students and students with disabilities.
