From Abroad: Students, Professor Finding Hungarian a Challenging Language
For the fall semester, Robert Mohr, assistant professor
of economics, is in Budapest, Hungary, with 15 students from the Whittemore
School who are studying at Corvinus University. Over the course of
the semester, Mohr, who will be teaching while at Corvinus, plans
to keep the UNH community updated about the Budapest study abroad
experience through regular columns in Campus Journal. Here is his
second column. More

UNH Celebrates Native American Culture at Powwow
Lisa
Clark, assistant professor of microbiology (center) and a member
of the Passamaquoddy Tribe of Perry, Maine, participates in the
Intertribal Round Dance at the Powwow Sept. 24 and 25. A tie to
the past that helps maintain Native American heritage, the Powwow
is a spiritual tradition and a time for Indian families to gather
with friends. The Powwow featured dance competitions, an explanation
of the regalia in the Grand Entry, food, and Native American artisans
demonstrating pottery, basket making and flute making.
