The
2004 Senior B.A. and B.F.A. Exhibition showcases works created by
graduating B.A. and B.F.A students from UNH’s Department of
Art and Art History. The exhibition runs from Saturday, April 24,
through Saturday, May 22. A preview reception will be held Friday,
April 23, from 6-8 p.m.
The 2004 Senior B.A. and B.F.A. Exhibition is a culmination of these
seniors’ academic programs, and explores their choice of medium
and subject matter to create their unique, interpretive styles.
Drawing from such diverse areas as French ironwork, figurative studies
and designs from the 1960s as sources for inspiration, these artists
present a reflective view of the world. Sensuality, the tension
between psychological and perceptual realities, and the interaction
between shapes, lines and colors are just some issues explored by
these talented, emerging artists.
UNH’s 2004 B.F.A. students include Alexis Carter, Lee; Mary
Emerson, Rockport, Maine; Dara Engler, Midlothian, Va.; Carolyn
McColgran, York, Maine; Jennifer Meanley, Wolfeboro; Erik Scheuring,
Mont Vernon; and Tim Smith, Lee.
The artists will be on hand for a Gallery Talk to discuss their
works during two of the Art Gallery’s upcoming ArtBreak programs.
On Wednesday, April 28, at noon, artists Alexis Carter, Dara Engler,
Mary Emerson and Carolyn McColgan will speak about their thoughts,
work processes and style development, followed by Jennifer Meanley,
Erik Scheuring, and Tim Smith on Wednesday, May 5 at noon. The ArtBreaks
series are open to the public free of charge.
