Bureau changes name to UNH Media Relations
The UNH News Bureau has adopted a new name, UNH Media Relations, which
more accurately reflects its role at UNH. UNH Media Relations writes
and markets stories about the university for state, regional and national
media outlets (print, radio and television). The department also produces
the faculty/staff newsletter, Campus Journal. Info: 2-1460.
Farewell
reception for David Butler is Aug. 27
A farewell reception will be held for David Butler, assistant vice
president for Human Resources, from 3:30 to 5 p.m., Wednesday, Aug.
27, at the Skybox Lounge at the Whittemore Center. Please join us

a branch on the tree of life
Hubbard
Center receives major grant to study one of the world's most diverse
animal groups
A $2.5
million grant will support researchers at the Hubbard
Center for Genome Studies in developing a comprehensive understanding
of nematodes (roundworms), one of the most abundant and genetically
diverse animal phyla on the planet. The grant is part of the National
Science Foundation’s Tree of Life project, which seeks to answer
the fundamental question of modern biology: how all of life, from
the smallest bacterium to the largest whale, is related in a vast,
