The Environmental Sciences Program was just gifted $10,000 from Triumvirate Environmental, an environmental consulting firm near Boston. The funds will be used to establish the Triumvirate Environmental Research Fellowships which will be awarded to Environmental Sciences students completing a senior thesis or capstone project on any aspect of environmental science. Awards ($500-750) will be based on excellence of the proposed work. We will also use some of the funds for field and lab equipment for our teaching labs, and we will host an invited seminar speaker following a reception for all students and faculty in the program. We will be partnering with Triumvirate to establish an internship program for our students. Triumvirate will hire up to five of our best juniors every summer and train them in all aspects of the company. These students will then have the opportunity to apply for full-time employment with the firm once they graduate. |
