Honors-in-Major Program Requirements
Students are required to maintain an overall grade-point average of 3.20 and a 3.20 in major coursework.
Students must successfully complete at least 12 credits of coursework in the following courses:
- NR 615H Wildlife Habitats (4 cr.)
- NR 636H Wildlife Techniques (4 cr.)
- NR 655H Vertebrate Biology (4 cr.)
- NR 737H Wildlife Population Dynamics (4 cr.)
- NR 738H Wildlife Policy and Management (4 cr.)
In addition to the specific requirements of these courses, students will be required to complete additional assignments, oral presentations, or some combinations of these.
Students must successfully complete:
- NR 799 Honors Senior Thesis (4 cr.)
This requirement involves completion of an independent research project under the direction and guidance of a Wildlife Ecology faculty member. Research project ideas must be initiated with a faculty member two semesters preceding graduation. The student will submit a research proposal and a final written report in the format of a journal manuscript, and will provide an oral presentation in a college, departmental, or program seminar.
