Selected Service Activities

  • Coordinator, UNH-EcoQuest, New Zealand Education Foundation Applied Field Studies Program. Co-Founder of a 15 week study abroad field studies program designed to train students in ecosystem approach to sustainable resource management through intensive field studies and directed research in ecology, resource management, environmental policy and economics in the context of the New Zealand policy and resource management framework and in collaboration with government and private sector resource managers. Participants are upper level students from U.S. universities. Helped design and test core courses and field methods exercises. 1998- 2003.
  • Consultant: Environmental and natural resource policy, comprehensive water resource planning, facility siting, Great Lakes ecosystem management, sustainable resource management, local government capacity building, environmental education, public participation, citizen training, environmental dispute resolution, environmental impact and technology assessment. 1972-present.
