New Hampshire Youth Band

The New Hampshire Youth Band, conducted by Andrew Maderios,  provides an enrichment experience for fine high school and middle school instrumentalists.


The New Hampshire Youth Band provides an enrichment experience for fine high school and middle school instrumentalists. The band is directed by UNH faculty members Mark DeTurk, and by Casey Goodwin. Advanced graduate conductors rehearse the band assisted by UNH music majors.

The Youth Band meets on Sunday afternoons from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM throughout the year in the Paul Creative Arts Center on the UNH campus in Durham. Rehearsals include weekly sectional rehearsals with UNH music majors as well as full-band rehearsals. The Youth Band performs three concerts on campus in the Johnson Theatre. Off-campus performances are also sometimes undertaken.
