13th International Chamber Choir Competition
Marktoberdorf 2013
The International Chamber Choir Competition Marktoberdorf is one of the most prestigious competitions
for chamber choirs worldwide. It is intended to bring together the worlds‘ best choirs in order to provide
them with the opportunity not only to compare with each other but also to discuss choral literature from
the individual countries, interpretation, styles, voice-training and techniques.
In order to achieve both aims, the programme is arranged that the individual choirs will have a chance to
work together as well as participating in the competition. The main aim here is an international meeting
with music as the central theme.
The competition is generously supported by the Federal Government Comissioner for Culture and the Media,
the Bavarian State Ministry of Culture, the District of Ostallgaeu and the town of Marktoberdorf. The
Goethe Institute Munich has supported the travel of choirs since 1989.
We are honored by the participation of University of New Hampshire Chamber Singers, which will be one
of the most interesting performances of the competition.
