Welcome to the Music Department. The mission of the University of New Hampshire Department of Music is to advance the art of music and its related disciplines, promoting opportunities for creative and scholarly innovation, while preserving diverse repertories and cultural traditions. The Department is dedicated to excellence in teaching, research, creative expression, and service. In addition, it strives to advance musical culture among residents of the state and region, as well as within the UNH community.

The 200 students in the Department of Music maintain a balance between performance, music education, and academics within a liberal arts tradition. We offer two undergraduate degree programs: the bachelor of arts in music and the bachelor of music; and two graduate degree programs: the master of arts in music, and the master of arts in teaching.

The University of New Hampshire Department of Music is an accredited institutional member of the National Association of Schools of Music.
