Parking
Monday-Friday, 6:30 a.m.-6:00 p.m.
Visitor parking during the University's peak hours of operation (Monday-Friday, 6:30 a.m.-
6:00 p.m.) is available in three different areas: metered parking along Academic Way, C-Lot, and the Visitor Center.
The metered parking spaces along Academic Way, in front of the Paul Creative Arts Center, have limited availability during peak hours. Meters are $1/hour (quarters only), with a 2-hour maximum.
Parking is also available in C-Lot, located on Mill Road across from Durham Marketplace. After purchasing a parking permit from the parking lot attendant, you can proceed to the Museum of Art via a short, paved walkway through a lovely, wooded ravine. Permits are $1/hour, with a 3-hour maximum.
The University of New Hampshire's Visitor Center provides the most ample parking opportunities and a complimentary shuttle bus that will take you to the Paul Creative Arts Center area. Metered parking is available ($1/hour, with a 3-hour maximum) or you may purchase a daily parking permit for $10.00 from inside the Visitor Center.
To reach the Visitor Center, proceed on Route 155A and turn left at the left turn lane, shortly before the tennis courts. Follow the signs to the Visitor Center, a restored white barn with green trim. The free Gables Connector (shuttle bus) leaves from the Visitor Center every eight minutes. The bus proceeds toward campus on Main Street, turns right at Holloway Commons, and then turns right again onto Academic Way. Disembark at the first stop on Academic Way (McConnell Bus Stop) and continue the short distance to the Paul Creative Arts Center, the first brick building on the right.
Evenings and Weekends
The Museum of Art is also open when parking is more readily available on Thursday evenings until 8 p.m. and on Saturdays and Sundays from 1 - 5 p.m. On weekends and evenings after 6 p.m., public parking is available in the lots marked for faculty, staff, or commuter students. Parking lots closest to PCAC are: Lot P (behind Parsons Hall), or Lot B (large lot off Mill Road, between Academic Way and McDaniel Drive).
Group Tours/Bus Parking
Daytime parking for buses is in the Dirt Lot 2 off Mast Rd. Shuttles run from the entrance of this lot every 10 minutes. To park the buses, after dropping off passengers at the Paul Creative Arts Center, backtrack to the traffic light and turn left onto Main St. Turn right onto Mast Road and turn right again into the first dirt lot #2. No parking permits are needed for this parking area. You may ride the shuttle to the McConnell Bus Stop and then walk left down the sidewalk to the Paul Creative Arts Center.
If you have questions about parking, contact the Museum of Art or visit UNH Transportation Services.
