Richard was born in northern New Hampshire; went to Plymouth State College and has taught Physics, Chemistry and Biology in Portsmouth and Claremont, New Hampshire. He worked at Portsmouth Naval Shipyard in the Apprentice Training Program and as a Radiation Monitor. At the University he is charge of the materials testing laboratory. He assists in ME 561 - Introduction to Materials Science lab. He maintains and builds equipment for the lab and maintains a safe and healthy environment. He is a valuable resource for the students and faculty.
