International Applicants
To protect international applicants from wasting time and money applying to the Materials Science Program when we cannot accept you – either because enrollment is already full, or because the deadline for applications has passed, or because your academic preparation, financial resources and/or other qualifications are not suitable for the Materials Science Program at UNH – we require all prospective international students living outside of the United States to submit the UNH Graduate School Pre-application Form which can be found here:
http://www.gradschool.unh.edu/php/preapp.php
Submission of the pre-application form is free of charge.
Fill out the form and then e-mail it to the UNH Graduate School at grad.docs@unh.edu with the subject line of "International Pre-application Form." The Graduate School will process your pre-application and send it to the Materials Science Program for their review and evaluation. Once the Materials Science Program has made a decision about your pre-application, you will be notified by e-mail. Depending upon the time of year, this process may take from 1 to 6 weeks.
If your pre-application is approved, you are not guaranteed acceptance into the Materials Science Program at UNH. Instead, approval of your pre-application is an indication that you have a reasonable chance of being admitted and it may be worth your time and expense to apply as a full applicant using the standard application process.
As an international applicant, you will of course need to have completed the TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) and you will need to secure a student VISA for entry into the USA, if you are accepted by UNH and our Program.
