Isles of Shoals Steamship Company
Our ferry's destination is Star Island, one of the nine Isles of Shoals. Star Island was once home to Gosport Village, a fishing community consisting of several hundred fishermen and their families. Later, a grand resort, the Oceanic Hotel, was built there. In 1916, the Oceanic Hotel and Star Island were bought by the Star Island Corporation, which today holds non-denominational religious and educational conferences on the island.
