Classics/Minor Options

Aristotle

Classics minor

The Classics minor requires 20 units of coursework (most courses are 4 units). These units must all be in CLAS, GREK or LATN courses. Under exceptional circumstances students may use courses taught by other units of the University (History, Art History, etc.) to satisfy the requirements of a Classics minor. Such exceptions must be approved in advance by the student's advisor in Classics.

Greek minor

The Greek minor requires 20 units of any level under the GREK rubric.

Latin minor

The Latin minor requires 20 units of any level under the LATN rubric.

You do not need to declare a minor; however, it might be wise to meet with a faculty member from the Classics department to discuss your minor plan.

At the beginning of your final semester of study, you should complete a certification of completion of minor form, obtain the necessary signatures, and submit it to your Dean's Office.
