Intermediate Linguistic Analysis
Course description
This course introduces analysis methods and problem solving in phonetics, phonology, morphology, syntax, and semantics, using data from many languages. Emphasis is both practical (learning how to describe the grammar and sound system of a language) and theoretical (understanding languages' behavior). Students will select a language to describe as a term-long research project.
Prereq: ENGL/LING 405 or 505, or permission. For undergraduates, this course is a prerequisite for LING / ENGL 793 and 794. Syllabus & assignments for the current
