Additional Project for 405 Honors Students

In addition to regular 405 assignments, you will complete an annotated bibliography on a topic of your choice. The topic may or may not be related to the final research paper for the course.

No class time will be used to plan or explain the project or to answer questions about it. It is your responsibility to contact the instructor with questions, to keep on top of things, and to complete the assignment on time.

Planning Meeting (before January 31)

Some time in January, meet with the instructor (either during her office hours or by appointment at another time) to discuss your interests and identify a research topic.

Proposal (before February 15)

In about 250 words, state what the topic of your annotated bibliography will be and what you would like to find out about the topic. Attach a tentative list of 10-15 scholarly articles/book chapters you would like to include. (At this point, you do not have to have those articles in hand. However, it is crucial that you already know there are some articles out there on your topic.)

Annotated bibliography (before the last class)

p.1 Cover sheet title, your name & the date
pp. 2-3 Introduction (about 500 words)
pp. 5-10 Entries one page per article
