Concerns About Teen Sexting Overblown, According to New UNH Research

Two new studies from the University of New Hampshire Crimes against Children Research Center suggest that concerns about teen sexting may be overblown. One study found the percentage of youth who send nude pictures of themselves that would qualify as child pornography is very low. The other found that when teen sexting images do come to police attention, few youth are being arrested or treated like sex offenders.

 

Theater and Dance Students Chosen by Tony Winner

Two students from the department of theatre and dance were selected to participate in a class taught by Tony Award-winning musical theatre composer Jason Robert Brown at the 60th annual New England Theatre Conference convention, which took place Nov. 17-19 in Natick, Mass.

 

Faculty Excellence Profile: J. William Harris

Writing a doctoral dissertation can be a long, lonely process, with years passing between the dissertation's start and its completion. For some graduate students in the UNH History Department, the process is made a little easier by having Bill Harris in their corner. The author of four critically acclaimed books that examine the history of the South, Harris knows well the rigors of crafting a lengthy work, and the difference a good mentor can make to a project's success.
