Welcome to the Italian Program. In our program you can study Italian and Italian American literature, culture, and film, along with the Italian language and Italian linguistics. The dedicated and creative teachers and scholars in our department share a commitment to excellence of instruction, whether it be in a first year Italian class or an advanced seminar for majors.

The UNH Italian Program provides the opportunity to achieve high competence in written and spoken Italian, in understanding Italian literature and culture, and in applying this linguistic, literary, and cultural knowledge to the study of other disciplines. We encourage independent and innovative thinking and research so that students may pursue and achieve individualized goals while preparing them for the challenges of thriving in the world community.

The program offers the Italian Studies minor and study abroad in Italy.
