French/Declaring a Major

Students entering the University as first-year or transfer students may declare any of the three majors in the program as part of the Admissions process.
If you are a continuing student interested in declaring one of the majors, you would need to complete the change of program process outlined below. Students must take at least one course in their major each semester until they meet their major requirements and must spend at least one semester studying in a French-speaking country.
The change of program process
Obtain a yellow change of program form from the Registrar's Office or download one here. If you are an undeclared major, you should meet with your undergraduate advisor at Hood House to start the process. If you are a declared major, you should meet with your major advisor to start the process. Your advisor will sign you out of your current major and provide you with your student academic file. Continue to obtain appropriate signatures on the form following the order listed on the bottom of the form. Your final step will be to submit your completed form to the Liberal Arts Dean's Office in 110 Murkland Hall.
