Estuaries: Nurseries of the Marine World
Did you know that estuaries are five times more productive than the best Midwest farmland? Estuaries feed more living things—including you—than any other kind of land.
The Great Bay Estuary is the biggest estuary in New Hampshire. UNH runs its Jackson Estuarine Laboratory at Adams Point on Great Bay so that its marine scientists can learn how to keep estuaries healthy and productive.
On Oct. 15, UNH marine scientists and docents will be showing you what they study and why their research is important to everyone.
