General

What is the difference between Canvas and myCourses?

myCourses is the UNH name for the learning management system Canvas.  All UNH information and support is found under myCourses. Vendor provided support and documentation is found under the Canvas product name.

How do I navigate to myCourses?

The URL for myCourses is: mycourses.unh.edu.

What is my login information for myCourses?

All faculty and staff now have myCourses accounts and can login at mycourses.unh.edu using the same user ID and password that you use for Blackboard. If you would like to become familiar with myCourses you can submit an online request for a myCourses Sandbox course.

Who do I contact if I have a question or issue with myCourses?

Online chat and phone support for system usage questions is available  24/7  by calling the IT Service Desk at 862-4242 or using the ‘Chat’ feature in myCourses by clicking on the Help icon at the bottom left of all myCourses screens and then clicking Chat with Canvas Support.

When will my courses be moved to myCourses?

All courses will be taught in myCourses for Summer 2016 and beyond.

Will I use myCourses to access WebCat and Email like I did Blackboard?

No, myCourses will be used for accessing courses and other teaching or learning functions, it will not be used as a Single Sign On entry point to other campus resources. Those should still be accessed via the Blackboard site.

How do I find UNH training on myCourses?

Check our myCourses Support Calendar. If you do not find what you need you can request a session

What is happening to Directed Communications in Blackboard?

Directed Communications will continue to be done in Blackboard until at least June 2017.  Details about where and how to send Directed Communications after that date will be provided to impacted users

Why is UNH moving to myCourses?

The decision was made at the completion of an extensive review with input from hundreds of participants across the UNH community.  myCourses is a modern tool focused on making teaching and learning 'easier'.  myCourses is a well-designed, streamlined LMS that focuses on saving time and effort, so that faculty and students can focus on the course content and not the tool.

Instructors

What is my Sandbox Course?

Your sandbox course is a place available for you to explore the myCourses features, test your Blackboard migrations and do other course build activities in a course that will not be published to students. All work done in your sandbox can be copied to your real course as the course shells are created. Additional sandboxes can be requested as needed using this online request form.

What training and support will I get to setup my course?

Each department will be offered a short introductory session to explain the user interface and how to start building a course. Additional assistance is available through office hours and individual consultations with instructional designers. Please see the myCourses - Getting Started webpage for more information. What support is available to my students?

There is an Welcome to myCourses introductory module built into each course. There also are workshops and walk-up assistance available at the Academic Technology Service Center (ATSC) in the Dimond Library. Online chat and phone support for system usage questions is available  24/7  by calling the IT Service Desk at 862-4242 or using the ‘Chat’ feature in myCourses. Additionally, online webinars are provided at the beginning of each semester.
