Devon Thomas' Journal- 11/01/04

I am sure that most people would not be interested when a guy says that his life is pretty routine. I could say my life is routine right now and I could easily see most of you smiling thinking "wow, routine, that's great, who else is on this site?" We all know ordinary is boring. Well my life is routine to this point, sorry.

But, perhaps what I consider routine might be extraordinary to you. So this is what I have been doing.

Over the past few months, most of the things I have been up to are dorm-related. Smith Hall is good about providing activities for residents. I participated in a trip to a nursing home in Portsmouth. We did arts and crafts with the people there, which was nice. However, there was one man who did not seem to like me. He compared me to a little dog and would whistle at me. It was kind of awkward and of course I did not reply, but I still think about it from time to time. Was this man nuts? Or was he implying something else? I don't know, I try not to care.

I have also participated in Intramural sports. In the first few weeks of being here there was kick ball, which is always fun; and ultimate frisbee, which was fun, but a little less fun than kick ball due to us getting our butts (Censored) kicked.

I am also a floor rep on our Hall Council. It means weekly meetings, which are really not bad at all. I like our Hall Council, I mean, at least we are trying to get things done. I normally would not have much to do on Hall Council if not for the discussion page I post on our floor every week. It is still hard to get people to reply to that.

So that is my life, so far. As I said, pretty routine.
