At The University of New Hampshire, we believe that the quality of one's education is enhanced when it is informed by the perspectives of a diverse community.
We benefit from the insights, ideas and experiences our students, faculty and staff contribute. The following are just a few of the resources on diversity and multiculturalism available to University students, faculty and staff.

OMSA:
Office of Multicultural Student Affairs
OMSA provides support, advocacy and services to students of color -- African American, Asian American, Latino, and Native American -- as well as to students who are lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgendered or who are questioning their sexuality [LGBTQA].
Students and student organizations that contribute to fostering and supporting diverse communities at UNH also call OMSA home base.
Office of Multicultural Student Affairs

OMSA occupies a cozy suite of offices on the third floor of the Memorial Union Building [MUB], across from the Coffee Office. There, you'll find everything you need in a hangout: comfortable couches, a TV and VCR (along with shelves of videos to watch!), a quiet room for study, and a computer lab where you can surf the web, check your email, or write a paper! For students, OMSA provides a space for dialogue and discussion, as well as a respite from the bustle and rush of campus. It's a place to get connected to community and make new friends.

The Office's three professional staff members play a critical role in the recruitment and retention of multicultural students. They offer a variety of services to students, including one-on-one advising and referrals.

OMSA sponsors an ongoing series of educational programming including films, speakers, workshops and cultural events. OMSA also supports student leadership development, most notably through the annual Martin Luther King Leadership Summit, which draws participants from across the UNH community.

The Counseling Center
The Counseling Center offers both group and individual counseling for University students. Group counseling is an excellent way to get support, learn about yourself and your relationships with otehrs, and to develop new skills.

Current groups include a support group for women of color, a men's support gropus, and an international student support group. The Center's website also offers a comprehensive list of resources for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgendered people.
