Inquiry offers students in all disciplines the opportunity to publish their research, scholarly, and creative work in a multidisciplinary online journal aimed at the educated general public and academic audiences worldwide. Putting their work out for public scrutiny is an important step for student scholars and researchers. As an electronic journal, Inquiry makes student scholarship readily accessible across disciplines and around the world.
The success of Inquiry depends on the participation and encouragement of faculty. You can help us by identifying students who are potential journal authors. Do you have undergraduates who have successfully pursued projects through coursework, independent study, or supervised research? If so, encourage them to contact Inquiry at editor.inquiry@unh.edu to discuss submitting their work for inclusion in the next issue. Do you know students interested in writing and in learning about the preparation necessary to publish research for a general as well as an academic audience? Encourage them to go to JOIN THE STAFF and submit the form there.
Each Inquiry author must have a faculty mentor or principal teacher, who reads successive drafts for accuracy and completeness, and responds to questions from the author or editor. This mentor/teacher must sign with the author a Publication Agreement before the issue goes online in the spring.
Inquiry depends on your support in another way: please participate in the journal by authoring responses or commentaries yourself (see CATEGORIES OF MANUSCRIPTS and RESPONSES.) We also welcome suggestions for feature articles and for changes and improvements we could make in the journal.
If you have questions or would like further information regarding Inquiry, please contact Dr. Paul Tsang, Faculty Director of the Hamel Center for Undergraduate Research, or the senior staff editors, Brigid Carroll Casellini or Jennifer Lee, at editor.inquiry@unh.edu. You may also contact them at the Inquiry office at 862-3531, Hood House, Room 218.
