
ADVANCE PAID Opportunities at UNH
In September, 2009, UNH was awarded an NSF ADVANCE PAID grant to facilitate women STEM faculty in: successful advancement through careers as leaders in research and teaching; influencing policy and decisions at institutional and national levels; minimizing feelings of isolation; increasing satisfaction with resources and research support, faculty colleagues, Deans and chairs.
Several initiatives were implemented to address these goals: professional development for STEM faculty and department chairs; competitive grant solicitations to encourage research and leadership opportunities.

Karen Von Damm Leadership Development Grants
provide funds to support STEM women faculty in pursuing leadership opportunities.
The grant was named in honor of the late Dr. Karen Von Damm, UNH Professor and internationally renowned leader and chemical oceanographer.
