SUBJECT: USNH Retirement Program

As a temporary faculty or staff member, you are entitled to contribute to the USNH retirement program which offers two plans, Teachers' Insurance and Annuity Association/College Retirement Equities Fund (TIAA/CREF) and Fidelity Investments. You may contribute to one or both of these plans through payroll reduction if you meet the following eligibility criteria:

  • You must work at least 20 hours per week or teach at least two courses per semester (or the equivalent)
  • You must be subject to FICA withholding
  • You may not be a participant of another USNH retirement plan
  • You must contribute a minimum of $200 annually

If eligible, you may contribute either 2.5% or 6% of your base earnings to TIAA/CREF and/or Fidelity; and you may tax defer your contributions. USNH does not make a contribution to this plan.

Enrollment packets are available at UNH Human Resources by calling 862-0501 (voice), 862-3227 (TTY). You may enroll any time as an eligible faculty or staff member. Other resources available to you include:
