Administrative Office Professionals

AOP Mission Statement

The Administrative Office Professionals (AOP) of the University of New Hampshire are committed to sustainable professional growth and development. We accomplish this by providing programs open to the entire university community designed to increase and acknowledge professional identity and contributions, encourage the building of collegial relationships, expand the general knowledge base, and develop individual competencies toward the fulfillment of the University's mission of teaching, research and public service.

Dear UNH Administrative Office Professionals,

Welcome to the Administrative Office Professionals (AOP) web page. Our committee began almost twelve years ago as part of an Academic Services Redesign (ASR) Training Seminar offered by Kate Hanson, Professor at Thompson School of Applied Science. Since then, through our partnership with the Office of Human Resources and our volunteer efforts, we have grown into a strong committee, striving to promote professional development opportunities open to the campus community.

The AOP Conference takes place every other year in March during Spring Break. It is offered during that week so all staff may have the opportunity to attend. The next one is scheduled for March 18, 2010. The conference is presented as a professional development opportunity. Months of preparation and hundreds of volunteer hours from people who see the vision and support the mission of our organization go into each conference. We welcome topic suggestions and feedback regarding the biennial AOP Conference.

The AOP planning committee meets once each month during the academic year, and more frequently as necessary during the winter months in support of conference planning. The committee consists of volunteers, from different departments all across campus, going beyond their everyday duties, working to design programs that meet the varied needs and interests of the UNH community.

We invite anyone who is interested in joining this committee of volunteers to attend one of our meetings. Please email us for the schedule and location of our monthly meetings. If you want more information about the AOP, our programs, or would like to volunteer, you may contact us at 862-0519. We look forward to hearing from YOU!

Best regards,

Christina VanHorn
