New Employee Orientation Information

HR's orientation programs - Getting Started @UNH and Discover YOUR UNH,  are for new benefits eligible employees, designed to assist in the successful transition within the University of New Hampshire and our communities. You will learn about the University's mission, history and brand that will support and influence your work life here at UNH.

Your attendance in these programs will inform you about university policies, our campus communities, employee resources, educational opportunities and your employment benefits package (benefits eligible positions only), along with the enrollment process and timelines applicable to your benefits eligibility.

We realize that orienting to a new position can be challenging. These programs are intended to address many of your information and resource needs as you begin your position here and to guide you in your onboarding experience during your first weeks and months at UNH.

  • Getting Started @UNH - during your first week and;
  • Discover YOUR UNH* - during your first 30-45 days;

are managed and scheduled by Human Resources (HR) based on the successful completion of the departmental hiring process.

You will be notified of your two orientation dates via e-mail from HR Communications to the e-mail address on file from your online application, or to your UNH e-mail address (if already activated).  In addition, hiring supervisors will  receive a courtesy copy of your scheduled orientation dates.

*Your orientation program dates will also be added to your HR Training registration record, and you will receive an system generated e-mail reminder for your Discover YOUR UNH program date 4 days in advance.
