Learning Assistance for Professional Development

Below is information for University System of New Hampshire (USNH) and University of New Hampshire (UNH) financial assistance applications and processes that can assist you in your professional development as a staff member at UNH.

USNH Credit and Non-Credit Tuition Waivers

The tuition waiver benefit is a USNH sponsored program for all eligible staff. You need to have completed your introductory period prior to utilization of the USNH tuition.  Benefits eligible employees may use the USNH Tuition Benefit to enroll in up to a total of 5 Courses (Credit or Non-Credit) per fiscal year. Tuition Benefits are pro-rated for percent-time appointments.

  • Employee Tuition Benefit: Credit courses waived at 100%, Non-Credit courses waived at 50%. Eligible UNH employees must complete and submit a form for each semester that the waiver is needed.
  • USNH Tuition Waiver Forms (credit and non-credit) can be obtained at the following locations for review and signature approval:

    • Business Services, Stoke Hall, UNH Durham
    • Office of Human Resources, 2 Leavitt Lane, UNH Durham
    • Office of Human Resources, Elizabeth DeMerritt House, UNH Durham
    • Registrar's Office, Stoke Hall, UNH Durham
    • Registrar's Office, University Center, UNH Manchester
    • OR by contacting the campus HR office.  A waiver form can be sent to you via campus mail for completion, then returned to HR for approval prior to submitting to the appropriate USNH campus business office for payment application.

Staff Professional Development Grant Program

A professional development grant opportunity for benefits eligible UNH Durham and Manchester staff. This grant* is open to applications on a quarterly basis.  Please view the UNH Staff Professional Development Grant application for criteria, eligibility and deadline information.
