DUPLICATING EQUIPMENT OPERATOR

Function of Job

Under general supervision from a designated supervisor, to operate duplicating equipment to provide photo-copying services as requested.

Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Organize material to be copied.
  2. Determine proper procedures, set up and operate duplicating equipment such as Xerox photocopiers.
  3. Instruct others in operation, as required.
  4. Respond to requests from students, staff, and faculty on duplicating matters; determine priorities on work orders received and schedule work.
  5. Take inventory, order supplies and store supplies received.
  6. Monitor use of equipment and assure that all copying is recorded/charged to appropriate departments or individuals.
  7. Collect cash for personal copying and submit to cashier with cash sales report.
  8. Make minor repairs to equipment or arrange with vendor for servicing of photocopiers, as required.
  9. May pick up/deliver work on a scheduled basis.
  10. Operate other binding equipment associated with copy service.
  11. Perform related duties as assigned.

Minimum Acceptable Qualifications

  1. High school graduation and one year of experience in an office or duplicating center preferably with experience in operation of duplicating equipment.
  2. Mechanical aptitude.
  3. Ability to work independently and organize own work.
  4. Must be able to wear and use appropriate protective equipment, as necessary.
