President Huddleston Announces Salary Increase for 2014
In recognition of the commitment and dedication of our faculty and staff this past year and their contributions to the goals of the University, I am pleased to let you know that the University will be providing salary increases for eligible non-union employees effective January 1, 2014. The program will include an across the board increase of 1.5%. Additionally, the University has established a merit/equity pool of $2 million to reward exemplary performance that goes above and beyond standard job requirements.
As you are aware, UNH is focused on continuing to build a performance culture that includes managers having a performance dialogue with their employees. To that end, last year we established a goal of conducting written performance reviews of at least 85% of staff employees. I am pleased to report that we surpassed this ambitious goal. I applaud managers who helped us to accomplish a 91% completion rate of staff performance reviews this year. Those completed performance reviews will be critical documentation for managers to assess performance. Managers will receive a specific communication regarding the salary increase process from Kathy Neils, Chief Human Resource Officer Monday, November 4th.
I want to reiterate my heartfelt appreciation for the continued dedication and hard work of our faculty and staff that strengthened our University during this past year. Our students have benefited from your extraordinary commitment. As a community, we take great pride in your work.
