Kristi Donahue has been working at the University of New Hampshire for over 14
years in a variety of creative capacities. She started as a Technical Writer/Editor for
Computer Services, was a Prepress Supervisor for Printing Services and a Graphic
Designer for New Hampshire Public Television. In her present position, Kristi extends
her creative design talents to a large, diverse group of customers in the Institute for
the Study of Earth, Oceans and Space. She is responsible for graphic design work for
the institute, including their newsletters, presentations, displays and web page design.
Kristi states "using graphic material to represent complex concepts in a clear and concise
fashion has always been my true motivator. Each problem brings new challenges and each one
is like a new puzzle. On a good day, you get to finish with everything neatly tied together,
like a story with a beginning, middle, and end - maybe even a denouement."
"To each person, their project is most important and it's essential to give each project
your best. If you're successful, the reward is lots of projects to juggle. I dread the day
when I have no requests for help."
A major aspect Kristi enjoys most from working at UNH is the wonderful spirit of cooperation
with University staff and faculty as they work toward common goals. She credits the many
managers and co-workers she has had the opportunity to work with and learn from, stating
that "hopefully, I've learned my lessons well and "made them proud." There is an old
ethnic saying, "Never be boastful, someone may come along who knew you as a child."
That's very true in our small community here at UNH."
