You must be an accepted full-time student (enrolled in 12 or more credits ) or be a full-time graduate student to receive an offer of housing. Graduate status is verified through the Graduate School.

Priorities are given to:

  • Medically re-admitted UNH students
  • Exchange students from other institutions and returning UNH students who lived on-campus immediately prior to participating in UNH sponsored programs at other institutions in the U.S. and abroad
  • UNH-Manchester and New Hampshire Transfer Connections Program (NHTCP) students transferring to the Durham campus
  • Other transfer students coming to UNH directly from another college
  • Re-admitted UNH students
  • International students transferring to UNH
  • Current on-campus residents who did not submit a Housing Re-Application by the deadline or who did not select a space during the Returning Student sign-up process 
  • UNH students living off-campus

Offers are made via email on a space-available basis and most will be for spaces in on-campus apartment complexes (Woodside and The Gables). Spaces within the residence halls are expected to be extremely limited.

Any applicant who is ultimately assigned to a space at the on-campus apartments or Babcock Hall may not later be reassigned to, or choose a space in, the undergraduate residence hall system unless granted an exception by the Department of Housing.

That's fine!  The form is an on-line submission!  Just login using your MyUNH credentials and submit the form wherever you are.

As soon as the form is submitted on-line, you will receive a confirmation response in a new browser window!  That confirmation is your receipt that the form was received and your data is now happily and securely residing in our on-line database. 

If you feel that there was some problem with the submission, you can email our offices at to ask for personal confirmation.

If you have special circumstances that may need consideration, staff, please send the information to or fax it to our office at 603.862.3406.

There are two things that may improve your chances:

  • Submit your completed request as soon as possible after the process opens once you've been accepted and activated your MyUNH account.
  • Stay flexible with your housing preferences.

We make as many offers as we can however our ability to do so depends on the number of vacancies after the housing processes for current residents are completed as well as on cancellations received after that time.  Space often becomes available between semesters if students decide not to return to UNH.

Spring semester is when the most housing is available.

We usually start making offers in April or May for fall housing, and in December for the spring semester. Because we receive last minute cancellations we sometimes make offers right up to the start of the semester; however there is no way to predict when our last round will be made.

We make housing offers via email.  If you receive an offer the email will include information about how to officially accept the offer as well as information about the next steps.  Specific housing assignments are not made until closer to the start of the semester.

No, you will only receive notification if we can make you an offer or if we have other housing information.

We will try to accommodate your preference but we are not always able to do so. Please note that offers are typically for spaces in the on-campus undergraduate apartments.
