Living @ UNH

Southeast Residential CommunityWelcome to UNH Neighborhoods

The University of New Hampshire offers living space in 27 different residence halls. These halls are grouped into three separate and very different residential areas: Area 1, The Hills, Area 2, The Valley and Area 3, The Timbers. Each area possesses its own distinctive characteristics, inspired in by its location in the campus, by architectural style, and by the different themed housing located in the different residential areas.

UNH offers a female single-gender environment and coed residences halls as well as communities where students who share common interests can live. Facilities vary from area to area, but you will find recreational and social centers, dining facilities, and a variety of living adventures in any area.

So whether you prefer a residential area nestled in tree-filled lanes in The Hills , the hustle and hum of The Valley located near downtown Durham, The Timbers that remains the heart beat and soul of the first-year student campus, or a high-rise tower or red brick building, a suite or traditional room, the University of New Hampshire offers a housing option to meet your needs and expectations.

With each resident having their own high-speed internet connection, access to laundry facilities within each hall, cable television and wi-fi in lounges, all UNH residence hall rooms are welcoming. Our fully furnished rooms include beds, dressers, desks/chairs, closets or wardrobes. All UNH residence halls offer a variety of lounge space and kitchen facilities for residence use. We take great pride in our facilities and look forward to sharing the experience of "living at UNH" with you.
