Students Returning from UNH-Approved Exchange Programs arrow

Congratulations on your decision to participate in an exchange opportunity! Whether you are preparing to embark on your adventure, or are getting ready to return home, please read on for information about on-campus housing options that may be available to you upon return to UNH.

INFORMATION FOR STUDENTS WHO LIVED ON-CAMPUS IMMEDIATELY PRIOR TO EXCHANGE:

If you lived on-campus (in a residence hall or an undergraduate apartment) during the semester immediately preceding your UNH approved exchange experience, you are eligible for campus housing upon return. In order to guarantee housing, you must notify Housing of your intention by submitting a completed Intent to Return to Housing after Exchange Program form, available at Pettee House or from our Housing Forms website. This form does not commit you contractually or financially – it simply lets us know that you have initial interest in returning to campus housing.

Housing will communicate with you via the email address you list on your Intent to Return to Housing after Exchange Program form. Please be sure to check that email address regularly during your exchange.

If you lived on-campus immediately prior to your exchange and filed an Intent to Return to Housing after Exchange Program form, you will be mailed a Returning Exchange Housing Agreement Form in early October (for spring semester returns) or early February (for fall semester returns). This form will be sent to your permanent home address on record with the Registrar's office and must be returned to Housing, along with the required deposit, by the deadline stated on the form in order for you to progress further in the assignment process. The form will also provide space for you to tell us more about your housing and roommate preferences. Because the form will be mailed to your permanent home address, please be sure to communicate with your family at that address so they will be prepared to assist you.

Once you have returned your signed Returning Exchange Housing Agreement Form, you will have a few options regarding your housing assignment. To learn more, please click on the link below that best describes you.

INFORMATION FOR STUDENTS WHO DID NOT LIVE ON-CAMPUS IMMEDIATELY PRIOR TO EXCHANGE:

If you did not live on campus immediately prior to leaving for your exchange experience, you may add your name to our waitlist for the semester of your intended return however you are not guaranteed on-campus housing. Offers will be made to students on the waitlist on a space-available basis only. Information about the waitlist process is available on our website.
